Quezon City reports over 152 cases of influenza-like illnesses, which has surpassed the epidemic threshold—meaning it has gone beyond the normal number of cases expected at this time of year. This indicates that an urgent response may be needed to effectively control its spread.
According to a Facebook post by the Quezon City Epidemiological and Surveillance Division, a total of 3 fatalities have been recorded between January 1 and September 13, 2025, reflecting a 40.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Reported cases range from 23 to 94 years old, with the highest concentration in District 4. This district includes Diliman and New Manila, Quezon Avenue to the north and EDSA to the east. Barangays under District 4 include Bagong Lipunan ng Crame, Botocan, Central, Damayang Lagi, Doña Aurora, Doña Imelda, Kristong Hari, Kamuning, Krus na Ligas, Laging Handa, Mariana, Pinyahan, Roxas, San Vicente, Santol, Sikatuna Village, South Triangle, Teachers Village East & West, UP Campus & UP Village, Valencia, and others, accounting for 28.4% of cases.
How to prevent the spread of influenza-like illnesses and protect yourself

This includes frequent handwashing, especially before eating.
