Types of Rodents

In the Philippines, there are three types of rodents that are commonly seen. These are the following:

House Mouse

One female adult can have 5 to 10 litters per year. Each litter can consist of 5 to 10 young. Each house mouse reaches maturity in just six weeks.

Black Rat

One female adult can have 4 litters per year. Each litter can consist of 5 to 8 babies. Each house mouse reaches maturity in just 12 weeks.

Brown Rat

One female adult can have up to 5 litters per year. Each litter can consist of 14 babies. Each house mouse reaches maturity in just 5 weeks.
